Designed in 1860 the No.14 Vienna was the original design of the bentwood chair, it Launched Bentwood Designs into the global market. Over the past century and a half over 80 million of this iconic design have been sold all over the world.
Known as the bistro chair, with its solid European beech frame and laminated beech seat the design required years to perfect, Thonet’s final design is made of six pieces of steam-bent wood. This design created a blueprint for his later designs, Simple yet Versatile it is considered the first true example of industrial design.
